Developed in conjunction with the RAH-66 Comanche, the AH-34 Shadow is an attack helicopter that combined the Comanche’s stealth, avionics, and internal weapons bays with expanded weapons capabilities to support precision-guided munitions, optional stub-wings, and interchangeable rotor head sensor suites. Though never publicly acknowledged, the small fleet of AH-34 aircraft reportedly served throughout the 2010s, participating in several notable operations. The Shadow also served as a testbed for advanced rotary flight gear, and some airframes were modified to accommodate ejection seats.
